Sr. Construction Manager

Senior Construction Manager

Salary Range: $135,000–$155,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience.

Dominion Water & Sanitation District (DWSD) is seeking an experienced Senior Construction Manager to lead the delivery of major capital projects, with an immediate focus on construction of the Chatfield Basin Water Reclamation Facility. This is a distinctive opportunity for a construction professional who can coordinate multiple prime contractors, directly supervise three Project Engineers, and take responsibility for the integrated performance of the overall project.

The successful candidate will bring strong general contractor or multi-prime project management experience and be comfortable managing contracts, schedules, budgets, quality, safety, field coordination, commissioning, and issue resolution from preconstruction through closeout. Prior municipal or water district employment is not required. Experience in a municipal or public utility environment is valuable when it involves a comparable multi-prime delivery structure.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Capital Programs Manager, the Senior Construction Manager supports planning and preconstruction activities and directly manages construction of water storage and conveyance, wastewater conveyance, and wastewater treatment facilities. The position also directly supervises three Project Engineers who assist with contractor coordination and management of the work.

The immediate priority is to manage construction of the Chatfield Basin Water Reclamation Facility using a multi-prime delivery approach. Acting in an owner-side general contractor capacity, the Senior Construction Manager will lead the Project Engineers and coordinate multiple prime contractors, consultants, suppliers, engineers, inspectors, operators, and project partners so that the work functions as one integrated construction program.

This role requires a seasoned construction manager who can see across scopes, anticipate interface risks, provide clear direction to staff, hold contractors accountable, maintain complete project records, and drive timely decisions while protecting safety, quality, schedule, and budget.
